Funeral Rites For Mrs. L. H. Schulte. Was Mother Of Irving Schulte.
Funeral services were held at the Schulte home in Remsen Monday afternoon for Mrs. Louis Schulte, Rev. Paul Wuebben officiating, and interment made in the Remsen cemetery.
Mrs. Schulte died Saturday in a hospital at Council Bluffs after a long illness. Ms. Schulte suffered a fracture of the hip bone several months ago and her health broke down after the accident.
She was the wife of the late Louis Schulte, prominent Plymouth county citizen, who served as county supervisor and county treasurer and postmaster in Remsen for several years, and the mother of Irving Schulte.
Mrs. Schulte, whose maiden name Sophia Mohning, was married to Louis H. Schulte of Clayton county, Iowa, and lived in this county ever since. She leaves two sons, Irving H. Schulte and Fred Schulte of Remsen. Mrs. Schulte was prominent in church and community life in Remsen and was esteemed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Schulte was born November 24, 1865, at Garnavillo, Iowa. Her husband, L. H. Schulte, preceeded her in death five years ago. They celebrated their golden wedding February 6, 1938, the day before Mr. Schulte passed away. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Feb 16, 1943, page 1.
