Funeral services were held in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran church, Remsen, January 28 for Alice Elnora Lang of White, S.D., who died there at her home January 25 after a lingering sickness. She was 55 years old.
Services at White were held in the afternoon and service in St. Paul’s church, Remsen, at 2:30 in the afternoon followed by interment in the Remsen community cemetery. All arrangements for services here and burial were made Mrs. John P. Schmidt and Mrs. Alfred Anderson, old friends of the Lang family.
Miss Lang was born on a farm northwest of Remsen, July 25, 1898, daughter of the late Wm. J. and Laura Lang, and lived here until the family moved to a farm near White in 1917. They moved to White in 1927.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1937 and her father one month ago.
Miss Lang was a member of the First Presbyterian church in White, and of the Ladies Aid. She was a member of the Eastern Star chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, more than 30 years. She was a willing worker for the church and for her fraternal organization and will be sadly missed by many friends.
Surviving in a brother, Ralph, of White; three nieces, Marian Kansanback, Dorothy Kracke and Joan Nissen and two nephews, Glenn of the army and Wiliiam, at home. – Le Mars Globe Post, Feb 15, 1954, page 1.
