Lena Gaden. Lena Gaden, 88, of Remsen died Saturday (June 11, 1963) in a nursing home in Remsen after a long illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul’s ‘Evangelical Lutheran Church in Remsen. Rev. Myron Herzberg will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Moeller Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gaden, the former Lena Tjaden, was born May 26, 1895, in Remsen and was a lifelong area resident.
She married John J. Reinholdt March 17, 1915. He died in May of 1936. She married John Gaden Nov. 24, 1942. He died July 10, 1970.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors are two step-daughters, Mrs. Walter (Glydelle) Erichsen of Remsen and Mrs. Bert (Dorothy) Haight of Titusville, Fla.; one stepson, Jack Gaden of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, June 13, 1983, page 6.
