Obituaray. Mrs. Helen Frasch.
Mrs. Helen (Barbara Ulmer) Frasch, 88, a Remsen resident since 1932, died Jan. 11, 1976, at Floyd Valley hospital.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Remsen, with Rev. Ervin Rodehorst officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen city cemetery under direction of the Moeller funeral home.
A prayer service will be held Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Helen Ulmer was born Oct. 4, 1887, at Menno, S.D. to Barbara and Wilmer Ulmer. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran church, Menno. Her marriage to Adolph Frasch took place Sept. 14, 1910. The couple moved to Remsen in 1932.
She attended school at Menno and Yankton college conservatory of music. She began playing the organ at Immanuel Lutheran church at Menno at the age of 12 in 1899. She gave piano lessons until she was in her seventies.
She was preceded in death by her husband Adolph, who died Aug. 26, 1956, and by a grandson, Steven Bunjes, Sept. 11, 1975. Also preceding her in death were a sister, Mrs. Emelia Schnaidt, and a brother, Joe Ulmer.
Survivors are a son Filmore Frasch, Remsen, four daughters, Mrs. Milton (Carolyn) Eichhorn, Storm Lake; Mrs. DeWayne (Doris) Ehlert of Los Altos, Calif; Betty Nitzschke, Remsen, and Mrs. Heino (Margaret) Bunjes, Le Mars.
There are 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Annette Seydel, Menno, and a brother, Albert Ulmer, Menno, also surviving. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Jan. 12, 1976, page 12.
