Claus J. Fischer, Long Time Remsen Resident Died Last Friday.
Claus J. Fischer, long time resident of Remsen, died Friday, August 2, at Sacred Heart hospital, Le Mars, following an illness of several months. Mr. Fischer was a carpenter by trade.
Deceased was born in Illinois on December 10, 1885, and at the time of death was 60 years, 7 months and 22 days of age. He is survived by one brother, Ed Fischer of Hinton and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mrs. August Ressen.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen with Rev. A. Noack, pastor of Christ Lutheran church officiating. Burial was made in the city cemetery. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Aug. 6, 1946, page 1.
