Mary C. Fischer, 73, who suffered a heart attack at her home in Merrill passed away on April 21, 1961, at Sacred Heart hospital.
Mrs. Fischer was born October 4, 1887, in Plymouth county and had resided here her entire life. Her husband was the late Edward J. Fischer, who passed away in August, 1951.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 24, at 2 p.m. at Luken’s Funeral Home here. Burial was in city cemetery, Remsen, under direction of Luken Funeral home. Rev. Kenneth Hodum of Merrill officiated.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Marie) Vromen and Mrs. Robert (Irene) Neighbors of Moline, Ill.; three sons, John of Merrill; William and Eugene of Hinton and four brothers, John Ressen, Imperial Beach, California; August of Aurelia; Ben of Le Mars; Henry of Pipestone. Four sisters, Mrs. Fred Husman, Mrs. Fred Klingbeil and Mrs. William Mooney all of Le Mars; Mrs. Henry Siebens of Spooner, Wisconsin; twelve grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Ressen. – Le Mars Globe-Post, April 24, 1961, page 1.
