Marilyn L. Titus, lifelong Akron resident, died Friday (June 12, 1987) at her home of an apparent heart attack.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron. The Rev. Benard Nelson officiated. "What A Friend", and "How Great Thou Art," were sung by the congregation. Carol Harris was organist. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery under direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home.

Casket bearers were Terry Clarey, Mike Hawks, Mike Harvey, Jerry McPherson, Dustin Appley, Randy Clarey, Andy Clarey, and William Scott.

The former Marilyn Trometer was born July 18, 1938 to Andrew and Leota Bogner Trometer in Akron. She attended school in Akron, graduating from the Akron High School in 1958. She married Herman Titus in 1965 in Dakota City. He died in 1968. The couple lived in Sioux City until 1968, when she moved to Akron. Marilyn was presently employed as Akron city park custodian at the time of her death. She worked for Wally's Jack and Jill grocery store for many years, Otis Radio in Hawarden for several years and the Akron Lanes. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim of Akron; a brother, Melvin of Akron; -and four sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Alice) Harvey and Mrs. James (Neva) Hawks, both of Akron, Mrs. Jim (Jeanette) McPherson of Hawarden, and Mrs. William (lone) Clarey of Sloan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Merlyn, and a sister, Blanche.
