Lloyd E. Peck, 72, Akron, Iowa, died Thursday, April 26 at an Alcester, S.D. nursing home after a long illness.

The funeral was at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28 at Westside Church of Christ at Akron. Pastors Dean Orris and Fred Kirby officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery under direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home.

Mr. Peck was born Oct. 25, 1900, in Union County, S.D. He married Edith Hanson Dec. 16, 1918 at Elk Point. He had been a rural mail carrier in the Akron and Verdell, Nebr. areas for 34 years, retiring in 1955. He was baptized into Christ in 1919 and served his Lord faithfully as elder and teacher until failing health no longer permitted.

Serving as pallbearers were Kevin, Lyle and Richard Moffatt, Kenneth Franklin, Larry Nilson and Tom Weber.

Survivors include the widow; daughters, Mrs. Allen Moffatt of Westfield and Mrs. Donald Franklin of Sioux City; sisters, Mrs. S. A. Nelson of Hawarden and Mrs. William Munn of Springfield, Ore.; brother, Elmer J. of Santa Clara, Calif.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
