Frank D. Tracy, 82, of rural Elk Point, died Thursday (April 26, 1973) at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Tracy was born Oct. 2, 1889, in Plymouth county. He moved to South Dakota in 1919, after serving 10 months overseas in the armed forces in World War 1. He married Mary Hagan April 29, 1925, in Sioux City. They farmed in Union county. He had served on the Farm and Home Administration, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic church and Veterans of Foreign wars post 915 at Elk Point.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Francis, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Loraine Allan of Sioux City and Mrs. Patricia Connelly of Elk Point; three brothers, James of Westfield, Emmet of Jefferson, and Dr. John S. Tracy of Sioux City, and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic church in Elk Point. Rev. John Reuland will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery in Sioux City. VFW Post 915 will conduct gravesite rites. Pallbearers will be Roy Weaver, Ralph Donnelly, Robert Walsh, Roy Duhaime, Dennis Chicoine and Loren Limoges. The rosary will be recited at the Anderson funeral home in Elk Point at 8 p.m. by members of the parish and the Catholic Daughters of America.
