Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday in the St. Paul United Methodist Church of LaPorte City for Mrs. Lois K. Rossow, 52, of LaPorte City, who died Thursday evening in Schoitz Memorial Hospital in Waterloo of cancer. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Farber- Otteman Funeral Home at Lake View with burial following in the Ferguson Cemetery at Lake View. Memorials should be directed to the St. Paul United Methodist Church or the Hawkeye Chapter Red Cross Blood Center at Waterloo.
Mrs. Rossow was born in Lake View on August 18, 1920, the daughter of Howard and Jessie Fresbe Kettering. She attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Milwaukee State Teachers College in Milwaukee, Wis., and Drake University in Des Moines. She married Gordon R. Rossow on June 16, 1946 in Las Vages, Nev. She taught Fourth grade at the Akron school for five years. Since 1958 she and her husband had owned and operated the Johannsen-Rossow Funeral Home in LaPorte City. She was a member of Chapter H.K., P.E.O. of Des Moines, and Lyra Chapter No. 129, of O.E.S. at LaPorte City.
She is survived by her husband, her mother Mrs. Howard Kettering, of Lake View, one son, Mark, a student at Gupton Jones Mortuary School, in Nashville, Tenn., and one daughter, Lexa Jane, a student at the State University of Iowa in Iowa City; one brother, Fred M. Kettering of Pueblo, Colo. and one sister, Mrs. John Barker of Holstein.
