Otto C. Larsen departed this life last Thursday, May M,1972 after a long illness at St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City. Otto was born in Denmark, October 9,1893. He came to the United States when he was 17 years of age. He was united in marriage to Ruth Carlson May 9, 1923. To this union was born 3 daughters and one son. He operated creameries in Minnesota before moving to Akron in 1927, where he operated the Akron Creamery until his retirement in 1959.

He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter. June Belshe, his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

He leaves his wife Ruth and son Cyril, of Akron, two daughters, Elsie Mae Wetzeler of Spirit Lake, Elaine Deirup of Sergeant Bluff, fourteen grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, 2 brothers in Denmark, one sister, Mary Andersen of Artesian, S.D.

He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Akron and Freedom Lodge AF&AM for 48 years, a member of the American Legion and a veteran of World War 1.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 20, at 2 p.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Rev. Burdette officiating.

Honorary pallbearers were Orlan C. Moore, A. E. Lake, Fred Dirks, Clarence Hummel, James Jenson and Sieben Siebens. Active pallbearers were Lyle Jacobs, Gaynor Harris, Keith Knapp, Allen VanderHelm, Fred Claesson, Jr. and Tom Kenny. Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery.
