Mrs. John Held Called by Death

Mrs. Charlotte Held, 66, of Leeds, passed away in a Sioux City hospital Wednesday morning following a lingering illness. Mrs. Held was a resident of this community for many years, and about five years ago Mr. and Mrs. Held retired from the farm and moved to Leeds.

The deceased had a host of friends in this community who mourn her passing.

Mrs. Held was born new Oyens, Iowa, September
3, 1884, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. J.
Raven early Plymouth County settlers. She was married to John Held, September 23, 1903, at Oyens. At that time Mr. and Mrs. Held located on a farm near Hinton, where they resided until moving to Leeds.

Survivors include her husband, John Held; three sons, Elvin E. and John A., of Hinton, and
Floyd K., of Portland, Oregon; and a brother J.A.
Raven, of Sioux City; six grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church at Leeds. Funeral services wll be held at the church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon with Rev. E. C. Zachoshe officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetary.
