Roy Howard Killed In Tractor Accident

Roy L. Howard, 41, operating the James Pavlik farm near the Liberty Consolidated School
in Liberty Township, was killed Wednesday forenoon when he was crushed under his overturned tractor while leveling a fence row.

The body was found by his wife, Ledelia, who went out to investigate when Mr. Howard failed to appear at the home for lunch.

S.H. Lukens of LeMars, Plymouth County Coroner, said Mr. Howard was leveling off an old fence row when the accident occured.

Mr. Howard was born June 21, 1910, at Corning, Iowa.

Survivors besides the widow, are a son; Jerry Don, at home; his father, L.L. Howard of Stevens, S.D.; five brothers, Cleo and Earl, both of Sioux City, Lee of Brewster, Kans., Louis of
Homer, Neb., and Ivan of Oklahoma City, and three
sisters; Mrs. Pearl Owens of Whiting, Iowa, Mrs.
Fay Harris of Sioux City, and Mrs. Mildred Broderson, Merrill.

The body was taken to the Barber-Boyd Funeral Home in South Sioux City.
