Grace Killeas of Le Mars died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1997, in Le Mars. She was a resident of Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.

Grace Louise Potter was born in Spencer, the daughter of Fredrick and Anna (Gross) Potter. She was married to John J. Killeas in Sioux City. She was employed at the time by Western Union Telegraph.

She came to Le Mars around 1930 and helped her husband found and operate Farmers Creamery Co.

Grace was an avid sports woman, focusing her interest on swimming and golf. She also enjoyed playing bridge.

She was a member of T.T.T., the Le Mars Country Club, and was a Girl Scout leader. She was involved in the activities of St. James Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Koley and her husband, James, of Omaha, Neb., and Linda Slusser and her husband, Robert, of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif; a daughter-in-law, Helen Schueller Killeas of Le Mars; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; and two sisters living in Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her only son, Vernon J. Killeas.

Visitation will be today (Wednesday), from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars, with an Altar Society rosary at 4 p.m. The family is holding private services.

Remembrances may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the organization of the donor's choice.
