Obituary
Mrs. Kathryn Koopman, 79, wife of the late Al Koopman of Le Mars, died Wednesday at Floyd Valley hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Koopman died Friday, Aug. 28, at Floyd Valley hospital after a long illness. He was buried Monday, Aug. 31, the day of his wife's 79th birthday anniversary.
Funeral services for Mrs. Koopman will be Saturday at 10 am. at St. Joseph Catholic church with Rev. Dean Walker officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery under direction of the Luedtke fumeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday. The Christian Mothers rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. Friday and parish rosary will be at. X p.m. Friday.
The former Kathryn Freking, she was born Aug. 31, 1891, in Le Mars. She married Aloysious Koopman Jan. 14, 1914, in Le Mars.
She was preceded in death by a brother Henry and a sister Frances McCowan.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Esther Schnepf of Le Mars, Mrs. Al Goerdt of Dyersville; six sons, Delbert, Elwood, Wayne and Mark, all of Le Mars, Marcell of Kingsly. and Leslic of Maurice: three sisters, Mrs. Emma Puetz, Mrs. Angeline Freking and Mrs. Leo Nuebel, all of Le Mars; two brothers, Al and Linus of Le Mars; 41 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
