Ronald ‘Ron’ Kayser, 64, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 4, 2022, at his home in Le Mars.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2022, at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. Joseph Church in Le Mars. Reverend Bruce Lawler will celebrate Mass with Deacon Paul Gengler assisting. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be anytime after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. Joseph Church in Le Mars. There will be a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Ron's name to All Saints Catholic Parish or to a charity of your choice.
Ronald Lee Kayser, the son of James Henry and Clara Mary (Shea) Kayser, was born September 23, 1957, in Le Mars, Iowa. He grew up near Remsen and graduated from Remsen-Union High School.
He was united in marriage to Rhonda Gotto on July 16, 1977, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars. They lived in Merrill for 7 years before moving back to Le Mars.
Following high school, Ron began working various jobs until going to work for the City of Le Mars with the Wastewater Department. He was with the City of Le Mars for 38 years. He spent the last 19 years serving as the Superintendent of Wastewater Treatment Facilities and Collection System until his retirement on December 31, 2021.
Ron was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars. He enjoyed rooting on the Kansas City Chiefs and the Iowa State Cyclones football teams. He had a passion for Ford vehicles, especially Mustangs. He enjoyed watching drag racing and tending to his acreage him and Rhonda developed over the past 12 years as well as traveling with friends and family. Family was the most important thing to him, especially his grandchildren who brought him great joy. He never missed watching them participate in all their various activities or exploring around the acreage.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Kayser of Le Mars, IA; a daughter, Jessica (Keith) Moeller of Ankeny, IA, and their children, Kendall and Caleb; a son, Nick (Jenny) Kayser of Le Mars, IA, and their children, Keegan and Raegen; a daughter, Kayla (Craig) Cubellotti of Le Mars, IA, and their children, Cameron, Shea, and baby girl Cubellotti to be born later this summer; his siblings: Frank (Diane) Kayser, Nancy Schwartz, Jeff (Laurie) Kayser, Pam Kayser, and Terry Kayser, all of Le Mars, IA; his in laws, Rick (Betty) Gotto of Eldora, IA, and Kevin (Myra) Gotto of Windom, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Norbert “Nubbs” and Virginia Gotto; and his brother in laws, Jerry Schwartz, Mike Gotto, and Denny Gotto.
