DEATH CLAIMS OLD SETTLERS

Dan Maloney, Pioneer of County, Found Dead in Bed Sunday Morning

Daniel Maloney, pioneer of Plymouth county, was found dead in bed Sunday morning about half past seven at his home, 30 Fourth Avenue NW. His death was not unexpected as he had been in poor health for a long time suffering from kidney trouble and complications.

Mr. Maloney was born in Ohio and with other members of the Maloney family came to Plymouth county over fifty years ago. He engaged in farming and other work and for many years in earlier days was a teamster and faithful employee in the Moore Lumber Yards.

Mr. Maloney was between 75 and 80 years of age. His wife and daughters preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Dan Maloney, of Kansas City, Mo. His son has been here for some time caring for his father in his illness. He also leaves a brother, Maurice Maloney, at Council Bluffs.

Mr. Maloney was a good citizen, hardworking and industrious, and a friendly neighbor.

The funeral will be held this morning at St. James church in this city, Rev. Father L. J. Cooper officiating and interment made in the St. Joseph cemetery.
