STRICKEN WITH HEART FAILURE

DR. J. C. MOHAN, WELL KNOWN DENTIST, PASSES AWAY IN HIS OFFICE

Dr. J. C. Mohan, who lived in Le Mars in boyhood days and grew to young manhood here, died very suddenly while in his office in Sioux City Tuesday afternoon.

Dr. Mohan had practiced his profession in Sloux City for a number of years. He kept in touch with his Le Mars friends and associates and was well liked by a large circle of acquaintances. The doctor attended the funeral of the late Dr. P. P. Lucke, in Le Mars, on New Year's day and apparently was in good health at that time.

Dr. Mohan was stricken with heart attack in his office, 422 Davidson building, shortly before 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Death resulted shortly after.

Dr. Mohan suffered a slight attack of influenza last week but did not consider his illness serious. He was unable to work Saturday but insisted upon returning to his office Monday morning. It is belleved his heart was weakened by the illness and a heart attack was responsible for his death.

Monday evening he told Mrs. Mohan he was feeling much better but Tuesday noon he complained in the office he felt worse. He is survived by his widow.

Dr. George W. Koch and Dr. W. H. Withee and Mrs. Mohan were in the office when Dr. Mohan collapsed.

Dr. Mohan was born in Streator, Ill., September 23, 1879. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Mohan and came when a child to Le Mars with his parents in the early eighties. John Mohan was a well known stockman and cattle man. Joseph Mohan received his early education in the Le Mars schools and then attended Northwestern University and was graduated from that institution. After completing a university course he lived in Le Mars several years and In 1906 went to Sloux City to engage in his profession and established a successful practice. Dr. and Mrs. Mohan were married in 1921 in Sioux City.

Survivors include the widow, a sister Mlss Lilly Mohan, and two brothers, Walter, of Le Mars, and John Mohan, of Des Moines.

Remalns Will Be Buried Here

The funeral will be held this morning from the residence at 3900 Country Club boulevard at 8:30 with services at 9 o'clock in the Blessed Sacrament church. Rev. T. M. Coghlan will officiate. The body will be brought to Le Mars for interment in St. Joseph cemetery.
