Nic Kane (sic Koehn/Kohn) died at the poor house on Wednesday of consumption, having been sick for several months with the disease. He was a step-son of Peter Braun of LeMars and had been a sufferer from consumption for some time and a few months ago was taken to the poor farm. The funeral was held on Thursday from the Braun residence.

His parents were John and Mary Koehn (often times spelled Kohn, with some newspapers printing the surname as KANE.)
Burial at Calvary Cemetery in LeMars, Iowa.
His father, John Koehn has a tombstone in Sec A of Calvary Cemetery. However there are no dates on John Koehn's tombstone.
