Saturday, May 27, 1899Nic Kane (sic Koehn/Kohn) died at the poor house on Wednesday of consumption, having been sick for several months with the disease. He was a step-son of Peter Braun of LeMars and had been a sufferer from consumption for some time and a few months ago was taken to the poor farm. The funeral was held on Thursday from the Braun residence.
