Funeral Services Held Saturday

Carl Howe, son of Wm. Howe and Elizabeth Howe,
nee Kiel, was born September 12, 1896, at Bordesholm, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. In infancy he was baptized and after due instruction confirmed in the Lutheran church in the year 1910.
Shortly after this he, together with his parents, brothers and sister emigrated to America and set foot on American soil on October 22, 1910. The Howe family was westward bound and at first
resided in this county, the departed lived until the time of his death.

Mr. Howe was afflicted with spells of epilepsy since the year 1911. In this year he suffered an injury from the kick of a colt and his affliction
became more acute as time went along. Particulary was his conditon gave and serious in the last months. He departed this life on the
afternoon of Wednesday, Jan. 23.

Burial of Mr. howe took place at Lincoln Township Lutheran church, Rev. R. J. Torgler officiating, on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 26. A
large number of relatives and friends attended the last rites.

The deceased leaves to mourn his loss his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Howe; two brothers Geroge and Henry, of Hinton; one sister,
Mrs. Henry Rathsack, of Moville; and an uncle and aunt in Germany; an aunt, Mrs Sophie Lindenman, of Sioux City; and one aunt, Mrs. Anna Christiansen, of Long Prairie, Minn.

Those who attended the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Sophie Lindenman, Mrs. Harry Martin, Mrs. Martha Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Howe and daughter Marjorie, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bremer and son, Walter, all of Sioux City.
