Henry Howe

Henry Howe, 83, Hinton resident the last 66 years, died Thursday (April 23, 1981) at St. Luke's Medical Center, Sioux City.

He had been hospitalized 12 days after a lengthy illness.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton, with Rev.
Marvin Suhr officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetary under the direction of the Mauer
Funeral Home of Le Mars.

Henry Christian Howe, a retired farmer, was born April 21, 1898, in Lubeck, Germany. He came to Moville in 1910 and moved to Plymouth County and the Hinton area in 1914.

His parents were the late William and Elizabeth (Kiel) Howe. He was also preceded in
death by his sister Marguerita and two brothers,
Carl and George Howe.

His marriage to Caroline Muecke took place
Jan. 29., 1924, in Lincoln Township, rural Hinton.

Mr. Howe was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and active in church affairs. He was a past director of the Le Mars Savings bank, Plymouth REC and the Plymouth County Zoning Board.

Survivors are his wife Caroline Howe, Sioux City, two sons, Alvin Howe of Hinton and Mervin Howe of Hotchkiss, Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. Virgil
(Bonnie) Frerichs, rural Hinton; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
