Death of Mrs. Engel
Mrs. Minnie Engel, of Stanton township, died at her home Tuesday after an illness of lung trouble, aged 68 years, having been born in Germany on July 22, 1839. She has lived in Stanton township for many years coming with her husband, August Engel, to whom she was married twenty-nine years ago, to Plymouth county shortly after her marriage. The husband was killed in a runaway accident near the Plymouth Roller mill several years ago. Three children were born to them, two of whom died when very young, and Miss Emma Engel, who is left to mourn the loss of a devoted mother. Mrs. Engel also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Werth, of Stanton township, and Mrs. John Schumann, of this city. The deceased was a most estimable woman, who although she suffered many trials and griefs in her life, was cheerful, neighborly and a was friend in need. She was held in high esteem in the community where she has lived for nearly thirty years.
The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the Emanuel church in Stanton township. Rev. H. Dunkelberger, conducting the services and was very largely attended by all neighbors and friends.
