Death of Peter Colling.

Peter Colling died at his home in this city Tuesday morning, after an illness of several weeks of liver complaint. Mr. Colling was an old resident of Plymouth county having come here more than thirty years ago. He was a native of Germany where, he was born in 1829 and came to this country when thirty-three years old.

He was united in marriage 1864 with Catherine Delahamet at Dubuque, where they lived for some time and then moved to Cascade, where they lived for nine years. They came to Plymouth county thirty-two years ago. where they farmed for many years east of town and for the past few years have lived in town.

Ten children were born to them seven of whom are living. Henry and Philip died in youth. and Mrs. John Kniep died about five years ago. The surviving children are Mrs. Nie Kellen, William of LeMars, Mrs. Freyman, of Oyens, Nicholas and John, of Randolph, Neb., and Misses Chrstine and Catherine, who live at home.

The funeral was held Thursday morning at ten o'clock at St. Joseph's church and was largely attended by old friends and neighbors who held the deceased in high esteem.
