Aged Resident Taken By Death
Mrs. Mary Alfred Died Wednesday Following A StrokeMrs. Mary Ann Alfred, 80, a resident of Plymouth County since 1874, died at her home Wednesday night following a stroke Sunday evening. Born in Shellsburg, Wisconsin, she moved to Iowa with her parents when she was 15 years old and has been a resident of this community ever since. She was married to Alonzo A. Alfred in 1878, and has been a very active member of her church and neighborhood circles for over 60 years.
She leaves to mourn her death with four daughters: Mrs. James Dempster, Neligh, Neb.; Mrs. Geo. Pinney, Corsica, S. D.; Mrs. Bertha Wells, Sioux City, and Mrs. Laura Buehler, of Le Mars; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at two o'clock from the home and at 2:30 o'clock from the First M. E. church. Rev. W. M. Hubbard will officiate. Mauer will be in charge of the arrangements
