Merlin L. Trometer
Merlin L. Trometer, 58, Akron, died Saturday evening (May 12, 1979) at his home after a brief illness.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Schroeder funeral home in Akron. The Rev. David J. Roy officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.
Casket bearers were Bill Miller, Don Peters, Wilfred Dirks, Tom Miller, Dick Coyle, and Phil Bernard.
Mr. Trometer was born July 8, 1920, at Merrill, Iowa, and was a life-long resident of Akron. He was employed as a mechanic for Dirks Motor Co. of Akron for the past several years.
Mr. Trometer was an army veteran of World War II, serving in Italy and Africa for thre years. He was a member of Hoschler American Legion post.
Survivors include a brother, Melvin of Akron; and six sisters, Mrs. James (Jeanette) McPherson of Hawarden, Mrs. Kenneth (Alice) Harvey, Miss Blanche Trometer, Mrs. William (Iona) Clarey, Mrs. James (Neva) Hawks and Mrs. Marilyn Titus, all of Akron.
