Opal L. Simon, 79, Le Mars, died unexpectedly Monday (Jan 30, 1984) at Floyd Valley Hospital after being admitted a few hours earlier.

The Funeral will be at 2p m Thursday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery Merrill. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 pm Wednesday. Callers may meet with the family between 7 and 8 pm.

A lifelong Le Mars resident, Mrs. Simon was born Oct 8. 1904 in Le Mars to William F and Addie Betsworth Calhoun She was employed many, years with Sheehan Produce and Hart Produce Her marriage to Everett Simon took place in 1922 in Le Mars.

Survivors are a daughter Mrs. Orville (Colleen) Durr Le Mars. five grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parent’s husband a son and a brother.
