Sharon Kruse, 67, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 15, 2021 at Grace Lutheran Church, L.C.M.S. in Le Mars. Reverend Timothy Geitz will officiate. Private family burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.
Sharon Jane Kruse was born April 27, 1954 in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Urban and Verda (Frauhiger) Kruse. She attended school in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1972. She attended college at Concordia Lutheran in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated in 1976 with a degree in Elementary education.
She taught in Minnesota before returning to Le Mars. She went to work for the Le Mars Daily Sentinel. Later, she went to work for Allied Solutions in Sioux City until retiring due to her health.
She was united in marriage to Tom Cooper in Le Mars. To this union, two sons were born, Joe and Adam. They later divorced.She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. She created many puzzles with photos sent to her from family and friends. She was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Yankees. Most of all, she loved the time spent with her family.
Survivors include her son and his wife, Joe and Chrissy Cooper of Tea, South Dakota; her siblings: Mary Ann (Kraig) Johnson of Rockford, MI, Wayne (Lynette) Kruse of Le Mars, IA, Janette Coover of Le Mars, IA, and Janna (Vernon) Sitzmann of Le Mars, IA; a special nephew, Brandon Coover of Le Mars, IA; and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Urban and Verda Kruse; her son, Adam Cooper; and a brother in law, Bob Coover.
