Bonk Gerdes

Bonk Gerdes. who had resided in Plymouth County since 1947, passed away last Friday, January 4. 1957 after a brief sickness at the home of his sister. Mrs. Mary Beckman at Akron, aged 87 years. 7 months and 17 days.

He was born on May 17. 1869 at Burbot. Germany. He came to the United Suites in 1887 and lived in Plymouth County for several years before locating at Currie. New Mexico, later returning to this county and living at Seney.

Survivors include two sisters. Mrs. Beckman and Mrs. Ann McKay, of Long Beach. Calif., and a number of nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held last Monday at 1:00 p. m. at the Lewison Funeral Home. Rev. Henry Dirks, of St. John's Lutheran Church, Preston township officiating. Casket bearers were Art Peterson. Norman Hartman. Melvin Rogness. Francis Green, Charles Hall, and Marvin Hartman. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
