Carl F. Schomacker
Carl Frederick Schomacker, 60, who resided at 36 3rd avenues northeast, Le Mars passed away at the Sacred Heart Hospital on Tuesday, October 2 He had been sick for 7 weeks and a patient at the hospital for 6 weeks.
He was born on July 29, 1902. His parents were the late Emma Mohr Schomacker and Bernhard Schomacker. On April 1, 1928, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Bensley at Le Mars. He was a lifelong resident of Le Mars and was a railroad Trackman for the Illinois Central railroad for over 25 years.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 4 at 2 p.m., at St John Lutheran Church with Rev L. L. Belk and Rev Robert Floy officiating. Burial was in the Le Mars city cemetery under the direction of the Mauer funeral home.
Survivors include one daughter, Vilas, Mrs. Norman Kreykes, of Monterrey Park, California; one grandson; 4 sisters, Emma, Mrs. John Rosene, Leeds; Anna, Mrs. Louis Berretta of Los Angeles, California; Meta Mrs. Roy Kolker of Le Mars and Esther, Mrs. Frank Ebrecht of Le Mars. 2 brothers, Henry Schomacker of LuVerne, Minnesota and John Schomacker of Cotton, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1960 one infant sister, and 2 brothers.
Deceased was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church, Le Mars, M. of W. railroad union lodge 626 Local, Cherokee.
