Roy Kolker, 78, 308 Central Ave. NE, long-time Le Mars resident, died Wednesday (Aug. 22, 1973) at Floyd Valley hospital after a 3-day illness.

He was a livestock feeder for Clark Brothers Cattle Co., Hinton, for 25 years.

Mr. Kolker was born Aug. 8, 1895, at Slayton, Minn., and moved to the Oyens area at the age of 12. He moved to the Le Mars area in 1910.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic church with Rev. George McFadden officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary cemetery under the direction of the Luedtke funeral home. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the Luedtke funeral home.

Mr. Kolker was the son of Herman and Helen (Smid) Kolker. He married Meta Schomacker on Feb. 23, 1927, in Le Mars. He was a member of the Eagles.

Survivors are his wife, Meta of Le Mars; three sons, Melvin of Merrill, Dale of Le Mars, and Eugene of Sioux City; three brothers, Alvin, Harold, and Larry, all of Le Mars, and 17 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and a brother.
