Franklin G. Utech

Funeral for Le Mars native Franklin G Utech,85, a resident of Morris, Minn, were held at 10 30am Monday, March 2, at First Lutheran Church, Morris.

Mr. Utech died Thursday (Feb 26, 1987) at Stevens Community Memorial Hospital at Morris.

Rev Dean Larson and Rev Ted Hein officiated at the service. Interment was in Summit Cemetery.

Morris Franklin George Utech was born June 17, 1901, in Le Mars, the son of the late William and Mary Ann (Piepenburg) Utech He lived in rural Le Mars as a young man.

He was united in marriage to Luella R Werley on Jan 1, 1923, in Le Mars, the couple farmed at Le Mars, and later at Lakefield and Heron Lake. where he owned and operated a John Deere dealership from 1936 to 1955 when they retired and moved to rural Morris.

Franklin assisted his son, Stanley, in farming near Morris. Mr. Utech was a member of First Lutheran Church, Morris.

He is survived by his wife Luella of Morris. two sons, Stanley of Morris and Larry of Eden Prairie. nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. two brothers, Ray of Mesa, Ariz., and Lawrence of Scoby, Mont, and two sisters, Mamie Pech and Margaret Loos, both of Le Mars.

He was preceded in death by one son, Darrell, two brothers, Edward and Wesley, and a sister, Lillian.
