August F. Utech Died On Friday
Had Long Been In Poor HealthAugust Frederick Utech of Elgin township died June 1 at Sacred Heart Hospital after being in poor health for the past three years.
Mr. Utech was born April 19, 1868, in New York City and came to Plymouth county when 9 years old with his family. When he grew to manhood he began farming and continued until about 1935 when he retired from active farming but continued to live, on the farm.
On February 2, 1892, he was married to Minnie Piepenburg who survives him. He is also survived by two daughters, Marie Utech at home and Mrs. Minnie Hass of Elgin township and three brothers, Fred and Chris Utech of Le Mars and William Utech of Worthington, Minn. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Utech, and one daughter, Florence, who passed away in childhood.
Funeral services were held at the Mauer Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, Rev. J. J. Share, pastor of the First Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the Le Mars city cemetery.
