Death of Mrs. Wm. Utech

Mrs. Caroline Utech, wife of Wm. E. Utech, residing about two and one-half miles north of, passed away on Sunday morning after a long illness caused by a general breaking down. She had been sick for nearly three years, and three months ago began to fall rapidly, passing peacefully away on Sunday morning. The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the German Methodist church, of which church she was a most faithful member, and a large number followed the remains to the church. Beautiful floral tributes from the Ladies society of the church and from others who paid a silent tribute to her memory.

Deceased was born in Dawer, Prussia, on January 2, 1839. She was united in marriage with William Utech in Prussia, in 1863. She came to the United States In 1868, settling in Illinois, and with her husband came to Plymouth county, locating in Elgin township in 1877, which has since been their home. She was the mother of eleven children, ten boys, and one girl. All of the children except five boys, having preceded her to the grave sons are Herman, William, August, Fred, and Chris, all living north of Le Mars. She Is also survived by her husband, Wm. F. Utech.

She was a most devoted wife and mother; a faithful Christian woman and her death will cause much sorrow in the community in which she has resided so long.

The pallbearers were George Nuesbaum, Henry Alberta, George Buehler, John Langendorfer, Andrew Johnson and A. Hacke.

Beely & Fissel had charge of the funeral.
