Death of Chas. Wagner.
Charles Wagner of Remsen, one of the Pioneer settlers of Plymouth county, died at his home in Remsen on Monday night after a long illness caused by dropsy and other complications.
He has lived in Plymouth county since 1875 and was well and widely known and had many friends all over the county. He was a native of Luxembourg where he was born about fifty years ago. He came when a boy to the United States and his parents settled in Springbrook, Jackson county, this state.
Mr. Wagner farmed for may years on the C. D. Hoffman farm east of town and subsequently moved into Remsen and kept a hotel for some years, which was a popular hostelry. He sold out a short time ago and retired from business. He leave a wife and a large family. The funeral was held on Wednesday at Remsen and many relatives and friends from Le Mars attended.
The deceased was a relative of Chas. Wagner, C. D. Hoffman, Nic Hoffman, and Mrs. Nic Hentges of this city and is also related to a number of other families in Le Mars and vicinity.
