Clem Hentges Dies Suddenly At Gary

Former Le Mars Man Succumbs To Stroke of Apoplexy and Dies Short Time Later.

Clem Hentges, a former Le Mars man, died on Sunday morning, according to telegrams received by relatives here. He was brought to his home on Friday, having suffered a stroke, and another stroke came later, resulting in his death Sunday at the age of not quite 45 years.

Mr. Hentges was a contractor and at present first deputy sheriff of Gary, Ind. He had been a resident of Chicago for about 20 years. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Hentges, born in Le Mars in November 1881, and left for Chicago about 20 years ago. He served on the Chicago police force before going to Gary and Crown Point, Ind.

Deceased leave his widow and four brothers and four sisters. The brothers are John A Hentges and Leo Hentges of Le Mars; Dan Hentges, Chicago; Will Hentges, Santa Ana, Cal. The sisters are Cleo E., Lena (Helen) and Regina of Le Mars and Emma of Hibbing, Minn.

The funeral will be Wednesday morning at Gary. Leo and Regina Hentges left to attend the funeral and Emma Hentges is also expected to be there.
