Mrs. John Hentges Called To Reward
Had Spent Entire Life In Le Mars
Mrs. John A. Hentges died at her home, 327 Fifth Ave. SE, Friday morning after an extended illness with cancer of the bone. The trouble first appeared about six months ago and for the past three months she had failed rapidly.
Theresa E. Wurth was born in Le Mars, August 30, 1887, and had lived here all her life. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Wurth, the former a pioneer Le Mars newspaper man. Mr. Wurth died in 1921 and Mrs. Wurth in 1930.
Theresa Wurth was married January 16, 1922, to John A. Hentges and two children were born to them, Barbara and John N., who with their father survive to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother whose first interest was always her home, husband and children. Barbara resigned a secretarial position in Omaha a few weeks ago to come home and assist in the care of her mother and Jack graduated from Le Mars high school last May. Mrs. Hentges is also survived by two brothers, John Wurth of Le Mars and Nic Wurth of Omaha,
Funeral services were held at St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Le Mars at 9:30 Monday morning, conducted by Msgr. J. D. Fisch. Burial was in St. Joseph cemetery.
Mrs. Hentges was a member of the Christian Mothers’ Society, and Marcathlin club and will be missed in church and social circles as well as in the home to which she was so devoted.
