Funeral services for Joseph Hentges, 75, member of a well known prominent Le Mars family will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic church here.

Rt. Rev. J. D. Fisch will officiate and burial will be in Calvary cemetery under direction of the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hentges died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday after a year’s illness with a heart ailment.

He was born August 5, 1883 at Le Mars, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Hentges, well known early residents here.

Mr. Hentges had owned and operated clothing stores with his brothers at Le Mars, Yankton, S.D., Watertown, S.D. and at Mason City, Ia. He retired five years ago and returned to Le Mars to make his home.

For many years he was active in club and fraternal affairs and had been a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and of the Elks club.

Surviving are two sisters, Celia and Clementine, both of Le Mars and three brothers, Frank, John and Rome, all of Le Mars. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Stephen, Edward and Leonard and two sisters, Clara and Mrs. Dana N. Hoffman.

Mr. Hentges will be greatly missed by his large circle of friends and acquaintances who will long remember him for his kindly good nature, amiability, consideration for others, his benevolence and many fine qualities.
