William Hentges, 67, former well-known Le Mars resident died Friday evening at Long Beach Veteran’s hospital after an illness of one year. Mr. Hentges was injured in an automobile accident a year ago and has been hospitalized since that time.
Funeral services will be held Monday at the Catholic church in Santa Ana, Cal. with military rites by the American Legion.
Mr. Hentges was born March 21, 1893* [see * correct birth date below] at Le Mars, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Hentges, early day residents here. He moved to Santa Ana in 1924 and had been engaged in the building and contracting business at Santa Ana since that time.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel; a daughter, Mrs. Jack Leonards (Mary Ann) of Garden Grove, Richard both of Santa Ana and James of Tustin, Cal. and four sisters, Helen, Cleo, Gena all of Le Mars and Emma of Hibbing, Minn.
