Eva Adams Christy
Eva Adams Christy, 92, of Sioux City, died Saturday in a Sioux City nursing home after a long illness.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Riverside Cemetery in Akron, Iowa, under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Morningside Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Art Beumier will officiate at both services.
Mrs. Christy, the former Eva Adams, was born Oct. 7, 1890, at her parents’ home northeast of Akron. She attended Morningside College and was a teacher in Chatsworth and Alton, Iowa, and a 50-year member of the Morningside Chapter. She was a Childcraft and World Book representative for many years. She had been active in the Red Cross, the Goodwill Board and the Salvation Army Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Christy) Schaller of Carmel, Calif., and Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Mac Reynolds of Sioux City; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial in her name has been established at the Morningside Presbyterian Church.
