DIED

ADAMS: – At the family home, seven miles northeast of Akron, in Portland township, Thursday morning, October 31, 1901, Rockie, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Adams, aged 13 years, 2 weeks and 2 days.

Just four weeks ago today, this bright young lad was taken ill with that insidious malady, typhoid fever. Every tender loving care that human hands could bestow and all the medical skill possible to exercise proved unavailing. There came times when the anxious watchers were buoyed by signs of improvement in the young sufferer’s condition but only to become blasted by the ruthless hand of disease.

Rockie was a very promising loveable lad, ever ready and willing to lend assistance on the farm and at home. His taking away is hard blow to the fond parents who have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.

Brief services will be held at the family residence Saturday afternoon, after which the funeral will be held in the Akron M. E. church. Interment will be made in the Akron cemetery.

Rockie J. Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Adams.

Rockie Adams, was born October 15, 1886. He was taken ill with typhoid fever October 8, and after much suffering passed to a more beautiful land, October 31, at 3 a.m.

Last winter he was converted uniting with the E. M. July 28.

He was a faithful worker and helped to lead some of his young friends into a better life.

During his long illness his many friends were very kind and tender to him; but not withstanding the loving care of his parents and many friends and the doctor’s kindness and skill, it was God’s will that he should come to live with him. He sang, “It is Better Farther On", until almost the last.
