Mrs. and Mrs. Kruse were early settlers in Iowa and located in Gundy County, where they farmed successfully for a number of years. Coming to Plymouth County in 1885, they bought land in Grant Township, which they improved and developed, and later increased their holdings. Mrs. Kruse was one of the pioneer women who helped build up the community and was highly esteemed by hundreds of people who have known her all their lives.
