Tena Hartmann Ludwigs of Rt. 4, Le Mars passed away at Lutheran hospital, Sioux City, on June 24 following a sickness which lasted several years. She reached the age of 72 years and had been in the hospital only one week.

Tena Hartmann was born December 26, 1887 in Germany. She came to the United States in 1893 and directly to Grant Township, Plymouth County and has since lived here.

Her marriage to Otto D. Ludwigs took place September 30, 1914 at Grant Township Lutheran church. Her parents were the late Ulfert Hartmann and Menna Miller Hartmann.

Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant township near LeMars. Rev. Bernard Nagel officiated at last rites and burial was in Christ Lutheran cemetery, Grant township. She was a member of Dorcas Society of that church. Mauer funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her children, Anna, Mrs. Edward Plueger, LeMars; Wilhelmina, Mrs. Lawrence Ludwigs, Sioux City; 14 grandchildren; 3 great- grandchildren; a brother, John Hartmann, LeMars and a sister, Mrs. Martin (Minnie) Croon, LeMars.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto in 1949, an infant son, Norman; 3 brothers, William, Dick and Alfred Hartmann and 4 infant brothers and sisters.
