Harry Bonnema Sr. passed away Sunday, February 11, at Sacred Heart Hospital at the age of 55 years. He had been in failing health for the past 2 years.

Harry Bonnema was born on June 24, 1895, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Henry Bonnema. He came to this community with his parents when he was 14 years old and they farmed near Ireton. On January 23, 1917, he was united in marriage to Dora Mohlmann. They moved to LeMars 17 years ago.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16, from the Wiltgen- Luedtke funeral home at 11:30 p.m.(cor. a.m.), at St. John's American Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m., Rev. L. L. Belk officiating. Burial will in the city cemetery.

Surviving is his wife, Dora, and the following children: Harry Bonnema, Jr. of LeMars; Mrs. Hilbert (Evelyn) Ludwigs of LeMars; Orville Bonnema of San Diego, Calif.; Gerald Bonnema of Bremerton, Wash.; and Marlyn and Franklin at home. Also surviving are 6 granddaughters; two brothers, Henry and Jerry Bonnema of Chicago, Ill.; his step-mother, Mrs. Eddie (cor.. Effie) Bonnema of Chicago; one step-sister and four step-brothers.

His parents, two sisters, one a twin sister, preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home after 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, until service time.
