JOHN HEEREN RITES TODAY

Longtime Plymouth County Resident Passed Away On Friday

John Johnson Heeren, retired farmer, passed away at the Sacred Heart hospital on Friday, November 19. He was 71 years, 1 month and 19 days old at the time of his death.

Born in Talluiah, Illinois, on September 30, 1877, the son of William and Anna C. Heeren. Mr. Heeren came to Plymouth county when he was one year old. On January 20, 1906, he was united in marriage to Anna Monke at Litchfield, Illinois.

He is survived by his widow, three sons, Harry, Le Mars; Lawrence and Walter at home, two daughters Mrs. George and Mrs. Harvey Ludwig, Le Mars; three sisters Mrs. Minnie Onken, Morrison, Illinois; Mary Baack, Howard, S.D.; Meta Gorath, Canova, S.D. four brothers, William, Sioux City; Herbert, Albert and Harm, Le Mars.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Richard, who was killed in action in Italy on Sept 24, 1944.

Services were held at 1:30 this afternoon at the Mauer Funeral Home and at 2:00 p.m. at the St. John's Lutheran church with Rev. Bunge officiating. Burial was in the Grant Township Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Heeren was a member of the Christ Lutheran church of Grant township..
