Mrs. Oscar Onken Last Rites Held At Morrison, Ill.

Funeral services for Mrs. Oscar Onken of Morrison, Ill., who died Saturday afternoon, Nov. 23, in the Morrison Community hospital were held Tuesday, Nov. 26, in the Bethesda Lutheran Church with Rev. David Holmes officiating. Burial was in the Grove Hill cemetery in Morrison, Ill.

Mrs. Onken had been a patient in the hospital for the past five weeks and in failing health for the past two years. She reached the age of 71 years.

Minnie Onken was born March 17, 1886, at Le Mars, the daughter of the late William and Anna, C. Heeren of Grant township.

July 4, 1906, she was united in marriage to Oscar Onken. They resided in this vicinity for five years, in Clinton, Iowa, one year and past 45 years they made their home at Morrison, Ill. She was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Ladies Aid.

She is survived by four sons and one daughter, Lester, William, Raymond and Russell, Mrs. James (Gloria) Butzer, all of Morrison: 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters; Mrs. H. C. Baack of Howard, S. D.; and Mrs. Meta Gorath of Canova, S.D., and three brothers; Herman, Albert and Harm Heeren all of Le Mars.

Her parents; one sister, Tena, and two brothers John and William preceded her in death.

Herman and Albert Heeren attended the funeral from this vicinity.
