MRS. ANNA VISNOW

Mrs. Anna Visnow, 91, longtime Sioux City resident died Tuesday in a hospital after a long illness.

She was born in New Hampshire, March 8, 1865, and come to Iowa with her parents in 1881, settling at Westfield. She lived in the Westfield and Akron, Ia., vicinity for a number of years before coming to Sioux City in 1919. She was married to Samuel J. Visnow at Westfield in 1888. He died in 1913 at Akron, Ia. Mrs. Vinsow was a member of the First Baptist church.

Survivors include a daughter, Miss Grace Vinsow of Sioux City; Fred of San Francisco and Edward of Valparaiso, Ind.; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the W. Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside. Rev. Ralph Brink will officiate and burial will be in Graceland park cemetery.

Mrs. Anna Visnow, a former well known and esteemed resident of the Akron and Westfield vicinities and for many years past a resident of Sioux City, passed away in a hospital there Tuesday, August 7, after an extended illness, aged 91 years and 5 months.

Anna Cilley was born March 8, 1865, in New Hampshire, and came with her parents to Iowa in 1881, settling at Westfield. She was united in marriage with Samuel J. Visnow in 1888 at Westfield and they came to Akron to reside, Mr. Visnow serving as janitor of Akron public school for number of years. He died here in 1913 (actually 1916). Mr. Wisnow was a Civil War veteran and Mrs. Visnow was active in the local Women's Relief Corps. She was a member of the First Baptist church and had lived in Sioux City since 1919.

Survivors include a daughter, Miss Grace Visnow, of Sioux City; three sons, Maurice of Sioux City; Fred of San Francisco and Edward of Valparaiso, Ind.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside. Rev. Ralph Brink officiated. Burial in Grace park cemetery, Sioux City.
