Maurice H. Visnow, 88, of Sioux City died Saturday at his residence.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. and rosary at 7:30 p.m., at the Christy, Smith & Hockenberry Funeral Home.

Maurice H. Visnow, 88, of Sioux City died Saturday, July 5, 1997, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dan Grieving and Deacon William Berger officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1973. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. and a rosary vigil service at Christy Smith and Hockenberry Funeral Home.
Mr. Visnow was born June 26, 1909, in Akron, Iowa. He graduated from East High School in Sioux City. He married Shirley Sexton in 1930, in Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Italy, France and Switzerland.
He married Hilda Lenzen on April 24, 1976, in Sioux City. Mr. Visnow was employed in the roundhouse for the Great Northern Raidroad, retiring in 1977.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Carmelities and the Council Oaks Senior Center.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Meredith and her husband, Charles Gillette, of Milwaukee, Wis., and Connie Wegher of McCook, Neb.; three stepsons and their wives, Don and Tina Sexton of Encinitas, Calif., and David and Janice Lenzen and Daniel and Sherry Lenzen all of Sioux City; three step-daughters, Bonnie Brown of Carrollton, Texas, Carol and her husband, Jim Even, of Port Clinton, Ohio, and Saundra and her husband, Jack Berger, of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; and 19 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; two sisters, Pearl and Grace; and two brothers, Fred and Edward.
