Mrs. Bessie Fara, 78, Le Mars, died Saturday (Aug21, 1976) at Floyd Valley hospital here after a brief illness.
Mrs. Fara was taken by the Le Mars ambulance to the hospital Saturday evening.
Bessie Barker was born Sept. 3, 1901, at Ireton to Isaac and Ann Champeny Barker. Her marriage to George W. Fara took place Mar. 27, 1930, in Le Mars. The couple farmed in Preston township. He preceded her in death Oct. 8, 1963 and Mrs. Fara moved to Le Mars in 1969.
She was a member of Plymouth Presbyterian church, rural Akron.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Plymouth Presbyterian church with Dr. Howard Marty officiating under the direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home.
Survivors are three sons, Orland Fara, Manning; twin James of Cincinnati, Ohio and John of Akron; a daughter, Mary Ann Fara, Le Mars; a brother Walter Barker, Akron, four grandsons and two granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four brothers.
