Franklin (Frank) Bonnema, 49, Portland, Ore., a Plymouth County native, died Monday in a Portland hospital after suffering a heart attack. He was hospitalized one week.
The body was cremated and a memorial service will be held Saturday at Caldwell Mortuary, Portland.
He was born May 26, 1933, near Merrill, Iowa, to the late Harry and Dora Mohlmann Bonnema. He graduated with the Class of 1952 at LeMars Community School and worked many years at LeMars Fruit and Grocery. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a TV announcer at Portland and was well known for his Saturday night wrestling show.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Anita; a son, Kurt, 15, and a daughter, Keli, 13, both of Beaverton, Ore.; four brothers, Harry, LeMars; Orville, Fremont, Calif.; Gerald of Bremerton, Wash.; and Marlyn of Orange City; and a sister, Mrs. Hilbert (Evelyn) Ludwigs, LeMars.
