ALFRED ANDERSON TAKEN BY DEATH

Alfred Anderson, 73, a former resident of this community, passed away Monday night in a hospital at Elk Horn, Iowa, following a long illness.

Mr. Anderson was born in 1874, in Sweden, and came to the United States and to Iowa in 1900, locating on a farm in Ida county. In 1910 he moved to Plymouth county where he and his brother, Oscar Anderson, operated a farm southwest of Hinton. In 1943, after his retirement from the farm, he went to Elk Horn where he has since lived in a hospital.

Mr. Anderson was a member of the Lutheran church. He had many friends in this community.

Surviving are a nephew, Raymond Anderson, of Hinton; two nieces, Mrs. Wayne Fowler of Marble Rock, Iowa, and Mrs. Hilding Olson of Crystal Lake, Ill., and several brothers and sisters in Sweden.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 o’clock this Thursday afternoon at the Heaton Funeral Home in Sioux City. Rev. W.R. Clausen officiated. Burial was in Graceland Park cemetery.
